Jan Wilding's & Andrew Hodges' House in Normandy
In
an area of natural beauty known as
‘Suisse Normandie’,
'Le Cotil' is in the beautiful valley of the River Orne
overlooking a large lake and surrounded by woodland. The
peace and tranquility of the area makes it an ideal setting to ‘get
away from it all’ and is a perfect place for quiet reflection.
To retreat to Le Côtil means a chance to relax, recuperate and
recharge the batteries.
Jan and Andrew
bought Le Côtil four years ago and have installed a sauna & spa to
accompany the swimming pool – ideal after a morning of yoga or a long
walk.
They were taken with the relaxing energy Le Côtil has to offer
and its 2 acres of pinewood with streams & springs which adds
to its charm.
The
local area around the lake provides an opportunity for walking, riding,
boating and water skiing as well as dining ‘al fresco’ and with
Paris only 2 hours to the east and the lovely old town of Bayeux , the
Normandy beaches and the port of Caen about 1hr to the North, there is
plenty to see and do.
The nearest town is Falaise, (home to William the Conqueror) and
every Saturday it hosts a traditional French market where it is very
easy to while away the morning sipping coffee in the Market Square.
