Your relationship with your coach is similar to that which you can expect with a doctor, priest or a therapist.
It is a completely confidential relationship, except as required by law.
Everything you say in the session is confined by the confidentiality agreement. The importance of this cannot be overstressed in that it provides the client with a space to fully explore safely all aspects of a given issue. This makes it possible to examine aspects of life which may make a client feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Confidentiality means in practice not revealing client information except where the client authorises it.
It is also means obtaining agreement before releasing a client's name for reference purposes or any other identifying information.
If the coach is being compensated by the client's employer then agreement must be obtained before releasing information to the client's employer.
You can be confident that your coach will fully honour the confidentiality of the coaching relationship.
